Taking Life Slowly

Writer: Bryanna LaresBryanna Lares

To my people who love to do, when was the last time you allowed yourself the opportunity to just be?

I’ve embedded this theme into my yoga classes since I started teaching, and today with the different ways in which I show up for others, Im also now having a hard time just being without wanting to do. But we can only "do do do" when theres also balance of being. Or else the "doings" will be infinite, and not feel as purposeful or fulfilling as they are happening. Being still, being quiet, being present. No other responsibility or task to focus all your attention on. Just you. Just the moment being experienced.

There’s so much rush, that we can naturally skip past so many important steps in the process; all in the goal of whats to come. What if the goal is right now? Just with how far you’ve already come? Can you sit to receive it fully?

Next time you are practicing your asanas, in a yoga class, in any daily task, or just breathing after reading this, take five minutes just to do one thing. And be fully with that one thing. You will thank you immediately.
